Accessibility statement

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use ShearCRM: salon owners and their teams in the app, and clients booking on a salon's website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in a new tab) at level AA.

Conformance status

ShearCRM is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. That means some parts don't fully meet the standard yet. We haven't had an independent audit; this statement is based on our own testing.

What we've done

  • Pages use real headings, landmarks, labelled form fields and buttons, so screen readers can find their way around.
  • Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and buttons use colour combinations chosen for contrast, and links aren't marked by colour alone in body text.
  • Menus, dialogs and forms work with a keyboard, and the mobile menu can be closed with the Escape key.
  • Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
  • Links to other websites say that they open in a new tab.

Known limitations

  • Card entry fields during checkout and online deposits are provided by our payment partner inside a secure frame. We can't fully control their labels or keyboard behaviour.
  • Salon websites use colours, photos and text chosen by each salon. A salon can pick colours or upload photos without descriptions that make its site harder to use.
  • Some app screens, such as the calendar's drag-and-drop, are easier with a mouse or touch. Appointments can also be moved by opening them and changing the time.
  • Signed form PDFs downloaded from the app may not be fully tagged for screen readers.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on ShearCRM or a salon's booking page is hard to use, please tell us. Email support@shearcrm.com with "Accessibility" in the subject, or use our contact form. Let us know the page, what you were trying to do and any assistive technology you use.

We aim to reply within two business days. If you need to book an appointment and the booking page isn't working for you, contact the salon directly by phone and they can book it for you.

How we test

We check pages with automated tools, keyboard-only use, screen reader spot checks and phone-sized screens before releasing changes, and we review this statement at least once a year.
